Listening to Butch Walker is like taking your first bite into a freshly baked cupcake, swimming in the Caribbean and walking through the park on a crisp fall day. You feel blissful, exhilarated and free.
Sometimes though, it’s like getting a flat tire on the highway in the midst of a three hour drive or [...]

In heartbreaking news, record producer Jerry Finn passed away on August 21 at the age of 38. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in July and was eventually taken off life support Aug. 9. Sadly, he never regained consciousness.
Finn contributed his many talents to the landscape of Pop/Punk’s sonic playground over the years and helped [...]

As the publicist for The Independent Music Awards, I am one of the privileged who gets to listen (and sometimes suffers through, no lie) every single entry that is submitted before we send the top songs off to our industry and artist judging panel. (By the way, Butch Walker, Daryl Palumbo, Brian Littrell, Billy & [...]

Katy Perry’s solo major label debut, One of the Boys, demonstrates that on major labels, music is a business–not an art.
For one, works of art don’t come with press kits the size of Dostoyevsky novels.
More importantly: Art is generally original, whereas Perry’s works mainly bite off of other mainstream pop acts. Her heavily [...]

On a complete side note to this post, I couldn’t endorse Butch Walkers new website www.therecordbusinessisfucked.com with more enthusiasm if I tried. It’s worth mentioning again because anyone who missed the extensive article about this little nugget of independent rebel ion should use their little fingers, type in the address and head on over now [...]
Careless Reporting

It’s hilarious how this week’s issues of Life & Style and In Touch Weekly both ran half-page exposes on Pink’s new man- “Butch Walker.” Apparently, they’ve been spoted making out everywhere and there’s pictures to prove it. One problem– THE UGLY DUDE IS NOT BUTCH WALKER!
This is low for even a tabloid. [...]

Hope is no longer on a frayed rope. It’s a thriving 14-track album that proves there is indeed something to look forward to in the future of the music industry. Once again, there’s a reason to purchase an album (not just download it online) because a band that is the complete package does in [...]
