Has Been Seen: All over the entertainment scene in Pittsburgh, from working local indie band shows to doing hair and makeup for fashion shows, live events, photo shoots and on numerous films from student to Hollywood productions.
Job that pays the bill: Working in my beauty salon that I co-own with my mom called CanDeVa’s.
Job(s) that keep the sanity: Being a radio personality, freelance artist, doing background extra work on movies, vice-president of marketing for Sotos Enterprise&Style-a brand new musician clothing line, doing an array of jobs with indie bands from being their personal stylist to public relation work and merchandise design and sells; and blogging with the PV Girls.
An ideal Saturday in my world: Starting off super early on a ridiculous roadtrip with my friends to go see a band we love later that night. I love roadtrips and the journey to get somewhere almost as much as the final destination itself!
Favorite article of clothing: Any sundress I own. I love walking around on a warm sunny day with a slight breeze in one of my dresses-it’s a very free feeling.
What’s on my Netflix Queue: Role Models, RockNRolla, Ghosttown, Midnight Run, Pineapple Express, The Little Mermaid, The Straight Story, FanBoys, Everybody Wants to Be Italian and The Women. I like to mix it up!
What’s on my grocery list: Strawberry Jello, pineapples, orange juice, Minute Rice, ingredients for my family’s super secret amazing pizza, the typical bread, milk and egg whites, and my two favorite men-Ben and Jerry!
Who I love: My family and friends of course. I’m the human version of Dorey from Finding Nemo with the short attention span and ridiculous memory loss and still my family and friends love me and stick around which deserves a lot of love and respect in return! haha
Most starstruck moment: My first movie I ever worked on one of my favorite actors (Ryan Reynolds) was acting in and I waited patiently every day for over a week to catch a glimpse of him until it reached the point that even the crew would tease me about it. Until one day we were sitting around on set and one of the PA’s tapped me on the shoulder and told me to turn around and there he was Mr. Ryan Reynolds himself just walking so cool-like to set. I was in awe and when he got about 3 feet away from me my jaw completely dropped and I just did a very awkward gawk at him until he said hello and continued on his way. It was one of those moments I couldn’t feel my body until it was over; of course everyone around me started to laugh at how “composed” I failed to keep myself in front of him.
My advice to you: Never give up on your dreams; things don’t always work out they way you plan them, but if you keep a positive attitude and believe in yourself you truly can accomplish anything your heart desires!
My favorite sites: Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, IMDB, ButchWalkerfansite.com and of course planetverge.com!
