Trash the Dress: Stories of Celebrating Divorce in your 20s is seeking women in music to share their stories. The book is a collection of stories based on a series of interviews with empowered young women who raised their naked left ring fingers high and waved their ex-husbands goodbye as they took charge of their futures.

Author Joelle Caputa is founder of Planet Verge (the all-female staffed entertainment and lifestyle blog and Internet TV show) and indie music promotions firm Audio Crush PR.

Trash the Dress: Stories of Celebrating Divorce in your 20s is not focused solely on musicians, however Caputa recognizes that some of the most volatile breakups and accounts of personal triumphs are often chronicled as songs.

“Women in rock ‘n’ roll are strong, independent and rise above challenges,” says Caputa. “These are my ideal subjects to feature.”

Participants must have been divorced in their 20s and willing to share divorce details for the book, which is pending publication.

“My goal is to show young women that although breaking up is hard to do, it’s worth it. I got divorced at 28 years-old and felt like I was the only one my age in that situation. The women featured in Trash the Dress: Stories of Celebrating Divorce in your 20s know that divorce is just the beginning of a great new adventure in your life,” she shares.
