Diary of a Planet Verge Girl: Pittsburgh goes Glitz

This past Sunday I had the amazing privilege of working on the charity event Glitzburgh: Glamour Meets Giving-A Black and Gold Affair. The event was a charity fashion show, which featured some local and national celebrities and musical acts. It was the brain child Dominic Janidas, Anna Delattre, Rachel Kernic and Nick Ceraso, and raised an estimated $14,000 for Children’s Hospital.
I had the opportunity of working on the incredibly talented makeup team made up of Pittsburgh makeup artists Julie Marckisotto, Lisa Stovash, Lyndsie Mento, and Vanessa Joseph. We got to work with the outstanding makeup line-Obsessed Minerals (www.obsessedminerals.com) created by Dr. Michael Huwe; I normally never sing the praises of a specific makeup line, but this line was properly named because I am now extremely obsessed with it.
What really made the night great for me was working with such a wonderful team of artists; being in a crazy fashion atmosphere can make people a little stressed and rude, but everyone including the models and hosts were all laughing and having a great time together–that’s what makes a job worth it all.
The night overall showcased some great local clothing on the runway designed by Shop .412, Sew Addicted, and Decade Pittsburgh and worn by some super great local and nationally known celebrities. The main reason the night was such a success was because of everyone’s efforts to come together and donate time, money, efforts, and passion to be selfless and help others, that’s a rarity in today’s world and I’m so proud to have been a part of such a great group of people and worthy cause. Here are a few pictures I snapped backstage and on the runway from the event.

Hanging out with Patrick Bailey and James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers
Chatting up with Ashley Elmore from The Bachelor and her sister Erin Elmore from The Apprentice–they were really fun girls.
James and Patrick were comparing makeup, you know, can’t be too girly looking as big tough football players and all
Making James Harrison ready for the runway with some coverup powder
One of my favorite models, Ashwin, workin’ the runway
The models were just as wonderful as the awesome black and gold clothing designs
Dominic Janidas, Anna Delattre, Rachel Kernic and Nick Ceraso the wonderful people who made the night possible.
