Nathaniel Rateliff is not too well known yet, but at Lincoln Hall on April 6th, you would never have known.  Dozens occupied the dimly lit venue waiting for Low Anthem, the headliners of the evening to perform.  While they waited, they had a special treat from opener Nathaniel Rateliff and his band The Wheel, a singer-songwriter from Denver, Colorado, who is currently making his way out on tour with several different acts.
Singing to the crowd

Singing to the crowd

Rateliff’s voice is stunning and his backing band, The Wheel, supplied beautiful harmonies that added to the already subdued and classic country-folk sound.  With empassioned vocals and the slow-moving, empathetic sound of Rateliff’s voice, the crowd was drawn in with every strum.  The acoustics of Lincoln Hall were perfect for the intimate vibe of Rateliff’s set.  His performance was insightful and moving, taking the crowd along with him for every song.
