My book "Billy's World" is about an American Staffordshire Puppy that I rescued from a dog fighting operation at 3 months. He had the cuts and missing patches of hair to prove that he was already "in training." The book is making people more aware of the terrible form of animal abuse that dog fighting is for this breed. The graphical depiction of the horrors of training and fighting dogs will convince anyone who reads it that a greater effort should be made to eradicate dog fighting. “Billy’s World” is meant to remind the reader that at this very moment there are animal gladiators being forced to kill or be killed—and this is happening all over America. They do it not because they are vicious, but because of their unflinching loyalty and desire to please. Others of the same breed, strength, and temperament are playing with children or snuggling to a human companion. Same noble breed---the only difference is in the people around them. If these breeds are re-socialized back into a world where people love them and care for them they become one of the most loving creatures alive. They must be given a chance.
